Directory Not Found error when trying to access Campus Connect

If you received the Directory Not Found error, then you need to maximize the browser window and try to log in again.

Network Issues (1)
Can’t access the Internet

If you are unable to get online, please try accessing a webpage that is different than your home page.  Most computers on campus have the homepage set to our college website.  Try www.google.com or www.yahoo.com before contacting Computer Services.  If you are still unable to access the Internet, please fill out a helpdesk request and we will get the issue resolved as quickly as possible.

Software (2)
How do I get software loaded in the computer labs?

The software that you are needing must be supported by the operating system that is loaded in the computer labs.  We are currently using Windows 8.1 in all of the computer labs except for DL107.  If you don’t know this information, please contact the software company and ask for the system requirements.  The computer labs are loaded once a year in the summer.  You will need to submit a helpdesk request asking for this software to be loaded preferably in the month of May.

Is it okay to install software?

Yes, only if the software meets the following requirements:

  • paid software (the college must have a license)
  • freeware (adobe flash, adobe reader, adobe shockwave, real player, QuickTime, VLC)
  • test bank software that comes with textbooks

* Please note that you cannot bring software from home and install it on a college computer.

Google Services (Email, Calendar, Drive) (3)
How do I share out my calendar?
  1. Log in to your calendar at https://calendar.google.com
  2. Click the gear icon at the top right > Settings.
  3. Click Calendars > Share this calendar.

You can choose from the following sharing options for your primary calendar:

  • Share this calendar with others – If you uncheck this setting, none of your calendar information, not even free/busy information, will be available to anyone (including people within your organization) except people you specifically shared your calendar with.
  • Make this calendar public- If you choose this setting, your calendar will be viewable to everyone, including people outside of your organization. Selecting See only free/busy (hide details) under this setting means that people outside your domain can see free/busy information on your calendar. They can also invite you to events.
  • Share this calendar with everyone in the organization – Your calendar will be shared only with the people in your organization. People outside your domain won’t be able to see your calendar, except:
-If you invite someone outside your domain to a meeting, he or she can see information about the meeting, but nothing else about your calendar.
-If you share your calendar with someone outside your domain, he or she can see free/busy information on your calendar.

    • Choose from two access options:
      • See all event details means that users within your domain can view your calendar and invite you to events, but they won’t be able to access the details of events marked as private.
      • See only free/busy (hide details) means that users within your domain can see when your time is booked or free, but they cannot see names or details in your events.

If you don’t see these options, you may need to ask your domain administrator to enable these features.

Give someone access to your calendar

  1. In the Share with specific people box, enter the person’s email address.
  2. Select the level of access you want them to have:
    • Make changes AND manage sharing: This person will have owner rights to your calendar. You cannot grant someone outside your domain this level of access to your primary calendar.
    • Make changes to events: This person can see and change your events, including private events. You cannot grant someone outside your domain this level of access to your primary calendar.
    • See all event details: This person can view the details of your events, except those marked as private.
    • See free/busy information (no details): This person can see when your calendar is booked and when it has free time, but will not be able to see the names or details of any of your events.
  3. Click Add person.

Where can I store my documents without fear of losing them?

Please use Google Drive to store (backup) your documents, pictures, etc..  You can access Google Drive in two different ways.  You can either use the Google Drive application that is installed on your college computer or you can access it from a web browser.

FROM A COMPUTER:

The Google Drive shortcut should be located on your desktop, but if it has been removed, you can also access it from the Programs list.

10-shortcut

We recommend you copy/paste your documents into the folder.  Do not drag and drop, because it will move them to this folder on the computer.

FROM A  WEB BROWSER:

To access Google Drive from a web browser (Google Chrome is recommended), click here and log in with your email account information.  To upload documents, click on the orange upload button on the left.  Browse for the files you want to upload and then click Upload.
